Protests against Prosperity Life Society: demand for refunds

Haveri: Prosperity Life Multi State Multi Purpose Co-operative Society held Rs 150 crore from the public and demanded that the money be returned to the Karnataka State Human Rights Protection and Corruption Eradication Committee on Monday.

Protesters marched in front of the city’s Purasideeswarar temple, protesting against the presence of M.G. Hosumani arrived at Siddhappa Circle and blocked the highway, shouting slogans against the Central and State Government and the Society. The protesters appealed to the District Collector who had arrived at the protest site and demanded action against the Prosperity Life Multi State Multi Purpose Co-operative Society.

The protest was led by state committee president Shivshankar Teekehalli, state vice president Harisha Inagalaghe, women’s president Lakshmi Jingade, district convener Malatesha Patil, Vishnu Jingade, Shivaraja Malagi and Thirakapa K. Hundreds of agents including Chikeri, Parameshwara Bhajantri, Malatesha Gotagodi, Chandasaba Yalagacha, Devaraja, Mahesh Halakoti, Ravi Haveri, Prema Kalekari, Sairatha Bidri and Basanna Ritti were present.
